BIOS Password

Hello, /tech/. I was wondering how to clear a BIOS password with no harmful consequences to the laptop. I've found guides but all of them mention possible unwanted effects. Is there any way to remove it?

I do have access to the person who knows the password, if that helps. I have full access to the computer, they just want to be in control and make me ask for the password. Operating system is Windows 7.

pop the thing that looks like the watch battery out, then put it back in, be careful not to use too much force to damage the motherboard

It looks like a button cell battery. Don't use metal due to static electricity.

Could also clear the CMOS, by shorting the "CLEAR CMOS" jumper on the motherboard. (Most motherboards have it. Located usually near the BIOS chip, or the CMOS battery.)

Don't change these.
