So my friend's giving me her shitty emachice-D620 computer, which is running windows vista.

I try turning it on it goes directly to a completely white screen and doesn't let me do ANYTHING.(I'm pretty sure this is a virus)
I want to restore it completely to it's original settings, so everything's wiped out and it's usable again.

tldr; white screen on the start up of my laptop. How do I restore it?

You should throw linux on it.
Otherwise, you can download a winblows disk that is cracked, and start fresh.

Press ctrlAltDel, open task manager, stop the explorer.exe process, then go to tasks, press new, type in explorer.exe and press enter. See if this lets you do something. The malwarebytefags can give you better advice on how to clean the computer and work it in safe mode and stuff.
