computer freezing

Name: Anonymous 2011-07-28 0:29

I haven't been able to find a solution anywhere else, so maybe you guys can help.

My computer has been randomly freezing over the last couple days. I'm running 64 bit Windows 7 on a Dell laptop. I haven't downloaded or installed anything in over a week and my anti-virus program isn't finding any viruses or spyware. The freezing seems completely random. It usually happens after at least an hour or two of use, and not when starting up a program or anything like that. When it freezes, I'm still able to use the mouse but everything else is unresponsive.

anyone know what's wrong?

Dying hard drive. GPU or CPU overheating. Use Windows Memory Diagnostic.

Dying HDD.

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-12 2:55

The hard drive could be dying. I've had this happen to a Seagate of mine, it would be real slow and then it just stopped booting. Apparently, the chip inside the drive was fried, but the rest of the hard drive itself is okay. This requires getting the same exact model and swapping the guts to get it to work again.

Don't change these.
