So my college is really anal about having sites that rate courses.
They shut one student created one down.
I am thinking about making one but i need help.
I figure I can pay extra $ to have the host omit whois information on the site I would create, but then the school could still see my host and contact them directly.
Hosting overseas seems like too much of a hassel, and connection would be slower. Any ideas?
Go here with any nick if you don't know how to use IRC http://rizon.net/chat . You don't need to enter channels or a password. Type ``/q Archduke'', and a tab will open. IRC is kind of like IM, but you can be more anonymous / it's more convenient, at least in my opinion. If I don't reply in half an hour or an hour (I can be slow), just leave some other way to contact you.
I offer free hosting, but I'd really appreciate donations!
As far as software goes, I'm not that good at programming. If you have software set up for rating courses, I can set it for you. Otherwise, we might have to look into other options... a wiki, forum (textboard or imageboard, even, maybe!), blog, or something of that nature. I have Python, Perl, PHP, SQLite, and MySQL all set up and running (with the lighttpd web server on Slackware Linux)...
I hope you're not the type of person that posts on /tech/ once and then vanishes, because I'd be more than happy to help! Viva free speech!
