Well, I have been wanting to build a gaming rig for a few years now, but never got around to doing so due to the price. I only have a rough idea of what I want, but I thought now would be a good time to build one, since there's currently a Newegg sale going on. I wanted one kind of mid-ish spec range, nothing too fancy. Capable enough to run relatively modern games like Borderlands or LFD2 at 60FPS with "high" or "medium" settings, I can live without Crisis running at 9,001 FPS.
I have a budget of ~$600. Already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, 3.5" HDD, install disc, and have already picked out a nice set of DDR3 ram sticks.
I wasn't sure about where to go from here. I know I need some type of fan, video card, motherboard, case, and PSU but wasn't sure about which ones have the best balance between price and performance.
