Laptop-to-TV screen HDMI colour issue

I purchased a Sony FullHD LCD tv and when I plug the HDMI cable to link it to my laptop screen everything goes well for about 5 minutes... after that the colours on the tv go crazy like pinkish and green or cyan.

Anyone knows what is going on?

Hook something else up to that HDMI input.  If no problems, your laptop sucks and is broken.
