hey /tech/, seems i've bitten off a bit more than I can chew here, I recently ordered business internet for a reliable static IP, after some problems with the companies servers, the tech. left after setting it up, and said it should be working in a day or so
the status lights have stabilized, so i'm now assuming everythings A-OK, but I cant connect to it like a typical modem, if I sit there waiting for it to give me an IP, it gives me 169.254.148.129, and no gateway,which I understand is a problem
the technician gave me my ip, and i've dailed that in to my NIC, which gets me the best results (i've even gotten a "that IP is already in use" from doing a wrong number), i'm still getting no gateway, or internet for that matter
so am I doing something wrong /tech/? or should I contact my ISP's support line?
