Mouse problems

Sup /tech/ I was wondering if ya'll can help me with my mouse. The left click is slightly unresponsive and when I keep it held down, it will spontaneously double click, drop whatever I'm highlighting or dragging, and/or highlight something else/start dragging something else.

But I don't think it is the mouse itself. The last time this happened to me was right after I did system recovery after getting a virus... and my mouse hasn't caused me any problems until I had to use it again two days ago. I also know that it can't be the mouse itself because both times this happened to me the presumably faulty mouse worked perfectly and completely on any computer but mine, yet strangely a newly-bought mouse would start working just fine.

Is there any computer problem that could be causing this other than the mouse itself? Like a driver or something (I have no idea what a driver technically is). Can someone help me?
