I've been asked to have a look at an HP Pavillion DV9700 (D9922US) for a relative.
Turning the laptop on, it all seems to be alright, except nothing is displaying on the screen.
The monitor itself lights up, just without anything on it.
After taking all the easily accessible parts out for testing (RAM & HDD), they all seem fine.
Booting without RAM causes the POST to fail, which means it's at least getting that far.
I know there are some heating issues with HP laptops, perhaps the GPU has fried?
Any tips on what to try, or what may be wrong?
