I'm getting 1long 3 short beeps when trying to boot my desktop. According to some sources that is a VGA error (IBM) but others say it's RAM (Award). MB is Asus A8N-E. Which is it?

When the BIOS is beeping, it does so before even looking at the OS, much less trying to load it. Question is therefore moot.

Last I heard, the beep code is BIOS-vendor specific.
