Hey /tech/, I'd like to tap into your Ventrilo knowledge for a second.
1. I bought a synthesizer (Novation Xio 25)
2. I want to play horrifically abrasive noises over Vent using the synth directly (as opposed to just leaving my microphone on and turning up the speakers connected to the synth)
It's connected to my PC via USB, so Xio can be selected under both input and output devices, as well as the mixer, but it seems like no combination of these settings enables other people to hear me when I hold the push-to-talk key, see the green light, and begin playing. The line volume and amplifiers are not turned all the way down or anything -- they can't hear me at all, it's not like I'm just quiet.
BONUS FUN FACTS: When I select "Xio" as the input device, I can't broadcast at all -- push to talk doesn't work and I'm not green even if I turn it off. If I select Xio as the output device, I can hear people through my headphones/speakers connected to the synth. If I select Xio as the mixer, I get weird errors. And probably crash Vent.
What do you think? Is this even possible or am I being a dumbass? Maybe I need another cable? I can't find any similar questions on the Internets.
In the case of getting another cable, the synthesizer has two line outs and a headphone line in addition to other irrelevant things. I'm using the headphone line for my speakers since it's the only one that activates them all with my current setup.
