So yeah, I'm horrible with technology, that much I know. I got a Western Digital hard drive about six months ago. Since then, it has been plugged into my home comp or some other comp almost constantly, and suddenly, the fucking thing shits out on me. Upon retrospect, I realize it was probably a good idea to unplug the fucking thing once in awhile when I didn't need it, but now I've lost a lot of the data I had saved on there (eventually, I just stopped saving to my local hard drive and simply used the WD instead, since it was more convenient, and I travel a lot.)
In any case, I've realized that the power block doesn't even light up when I plug it in, so I'm starting to think that it might be a problem with the power cord, which would be the best case scenario, cause I can just replace that no problem, but fuck me, I'm shit with technology, so I figured maybe you guys would be much more qualified to give a few suggestions on what the problem really might be, and perhaps a few tips with hard drives so as to avoid this in the future.
Thanks in advance.
