External Storage

I'm considering getting an external hard drive for my laptop and desktop and I've come at a crossroads; is it worth the extra money/effort to get an internal hard drive with an external enclosure over a regular external hard drive (in terms of lifespan, performance, reliability, etc.)?

Yes, plus you get to use the drive and/or caddy for other things should the need arise.
