HALP decorrupt?

posted this on /g/, realized i was asking the wrong people.

my laptop got hit by a trojan. can't remember the name of it,
(but it was caused by PLDivX, some shit my roommate put on it) but being a dumbass, i deleted it, and now my laptop is fucked, corrupted and all that.

my question, before i explain what's wrong, is;

is there any way to un-corrupt the laptop without reformatting the drive and all that shit?

here's what's happening:
- the taskbar containing the start menu is fucked, it's half windows XP and half windows 98.
- clicking on my C:/, won't come up, but a popup saying:
"Windows cannot find RECYCLER\S-1-1-94-100001685-100015634-100008450-4227.com. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then hit Search.
- Internet, internet connections, most programs and even some of the flashdrives won't work.
- constant popup errors of "svchost.exe"


any help is appreciated

Boot from the install disk and run a repair. If that doesn't work get yourself a real OS.

Sounds like shell/run hack check registry, or google combofix

Delete system32 to do a partial refresh, sounds like what your looking for.

Install Ubuntu/Fedora/openSUSE.  Or get a Mac if you hate freedom and love brushed metal.
