Okay, so I noticed this morning that I had no dvd-rw drive. Uninstalling the drive didn't resolve anything, it was an issue with the drivers. I attempt to repair my OS installation with my Windows XP disc and a new problem occurs, the one I'm asking for help about.
It copies and deletes the files it needs to and reboots. Upon reboot it is asking for 'ASMS'. I pop the disc into another machine and find the location, but it doesn't accept it. I try a multitude of variables to direct it to the proper place.
I think its the disc so I cleaned it. I tried the official copy of the disc (the one with the hologram) and that doesn't work either. I even swapped my DVD drive and the problem still continues.
Any suggestions, /tech/?
