My sound in Windows 7 crackles once in a while when listening to something, anything.

    I tried two Realtek drivers, one Vista, one XP, with the XP being installed twice, second install was in compatibility mode.

    This is the only thing keeping me away from Windows 7

    Any solutions?

The solution is to wait until Windows 7 is actually released. It's a beta, you fucking retard. If you aren't able to solve these problems yourself, you have no business using pre-release software. Cripes and a sage.

idiots... win7 is more stable that vista, which i realize doesn't say much... but it's actually pretty good.

i also get the cracking problem, and despite poster #2 being a complete douche, im pretty sure it's related to a driver issue, not win7 itself.

Strange, I get this on Vista but not W7... They say it can be caused by conflicting Video and Audio drivers. Do you have an NVidia GPU perchance?
