Linux gaming with Wine

Anybody experienced with it?  I'd like to know if I'd be able to run Oblivion without much trouble.

I'm a poorfag and can't afford Cedega.

I had Cedega, it didn't work, and I'm a poorfag.

Forget Cedega, It hardly better than WINE except you have to pay. Might as well just suck it up if it doesn't work and either not play, or dual boot or use straight up Windows.

Oh +1 for google that shit, winehq + oblivion? geez

It was DEFINITELY possible in Cedega ages ago (virtually at launch), so yeah I'd imagine it can be made to work in normal WINE now. (Cedega is just an old wine fork + licensed copy protection routines, actually inferior in some ways.) However you used to have to apply the "Oldblivion" patch to make it use earlier DX version shaders, I don't know if that's still the case.
