nvidia control panel being an ass

I have a 16:10 monitor that Im trying to put into fixed-aspect-ratio 4:3 (for an older game), but instead of putting black bars on the sides, the shitwick is putting them on the top and bottom, distorting it even more than 1024x768 stretched to 1680x1050.

Any idea why its doing this? Its done it before but not consistently, and on previous occasions it eventually did it properly after a few tries.

I posted here first before realizing how slow the text board moves. You hardly kicked my ass either.
