Cable management?

I recently bought Antec 300, P5Q PRO and Corsair 650w and I have a question about the peripheral cables.

I have connected the male/female molars that come with the case's fans and hooked up one end with the PSU and the other with an adapter that connects with my DVD-rom and HDD (SATA), is this the correct way to do it? I have read the manual but it just says "connect the peripheral cables to the DVD/HDD etc." I figured I'd work around it like I explained earlier since not every computer is the same.

So in short, am I doing it wrong?

Forgot to mention that the DVD and HDD are also connected to the Motherboard with SATA cables.
