cracking word docs

I was wondering if there was an easy way to crack the passwords on word docs. I have done some googling, and there are programs that seem to be able to do it really quickly, meaning that it is not bruteforce, but they all want you to pay for it. So, I was wondering if anyone in /tech/ knew any easy way to either make word spill the PW or bypass it to just open the doc.
