Disc station won't read discs anymore

A few days ago my 20X SATA DVD±RW Dual-Layer burner stopped reading discs, it just makes noises is if its trying to read the disc, but it never does.

Also, it can read software CDs (game) and movie DVDs, but not software DVDs (game).

What could be the problem?

They're so cheap these days you may as well buy a new one rather than wasting time trying to figure out how it's fucked.

Most likely if you have tried a few discs there is some dust or dirt sitting on the laser and the dirt interrupts the laser from "seeing" the disc correctly.

Fix:  Clean it.  Some products are good but the best is a goramy.
