hello there. i need some /tech/nical advice from you folks. i have a laptop with an external monitor running. it's a Samsung Syncmaster 920N at VGA and it's usually able to support 1280*1024. Since my laptophas 1680*1050 at 15 inch, i configured it to have the Samsung as the only monitor in use. But since yesterday every time i boot my machine and the login screen appears, the Samsung blacks out, with a small message on it saying "Not optimum mode. Recommended moce is 1280x1024 at 60Hz." i would just switch the view to the laptop's monitor but i can't because i set it to not be in use. can anybody help me getting at least the windows back on my laptop screen?

F8 into safe mode or similar on bootup of Windows, change graphics settings there then reboot.

Don't change these.
