(erm, if this is the wrong place, I apologize - I think it's too advice/support-y for /g/)
Long story short, I dropped my ipod in a glass of milk the other day, and it's definiately dead. I couldn't get all of the milk out, so half the screen is this film-y white color (that you can tell is liquid) with a little bit of white, and the rest has condensation bubbles that basically make it very clear my ipod was in a liquid-related accident.
Anyway. Back when I bought the ipod, I got the Best Buy 3 year replacement warranty. I asked the employeees - three in all, probably about 10 times throughout the course of me buying the dang thing - if it covered *all* damage, including accidental (and, ironically enough, gave an example 'if I drop it in a glass of water') and they all said, yes, of course! No matter why it's broken, whatever damage, just bring it here and we'll replace it! Run it through the washer? Bring it here! Drop it in the sidewalk? Bring it here! etc you get my drift.
Like an idiot, I said, okay, I'll buy that warranty!
Cue me reading the warranty a year later, come to find out that... it says in the warranty that it does not cover accidental damage.
I'm... very pissed.
Will Best Buy replace it, or not? I literally don't have the money to buy a new one, or buy anything right now, for that matter, so... am I just SOL or will Best Buy own up to the fact that I got lied to and replace it like they said they would?
