hey /g/ I have a question for all you computer adept folks.
I've always been the friend whom everyone goes to to get their pc problems solved but all too often do I give up and suggest backing up everything and reinstalling windows. I want to be more able to simply track down problems and make the necessary quick fixes. I realize that most cases are well, case dependant and learning everything is impossible, thus google becomes a valuable resource for finding other resources that relate to problems found, such as manufacturer websites and forums and such.
Is using google enough to get most anything accomplished quickly, or are there some outstanding websites that are better than others when it comes to learning how to identify and solve problems with someone's OS, software, and hardware?
I'm looking to make a list of valuable resources that involve fixing or "cleaning" random pcs OS's. I was thinking if some kind people will share some of their secrets or fav troubleshooting/tricktip websites we can all learn something!
