We have Thinkpads with Vista Enterprise (not sure about 32- or 64-bit) at school. We have tried to install all types of USB storage - flash drives, USB-powered HDDs, HDD's with wall plugs... Every time, Vista says the installation requires an Interactive window station. The generic drivers are there, I've tried downloading manufacturer drivers, no luck.
Someone on Tom's Hardware had the same problem, and it was recommended that they reinstall Windows with the hardware plugged in. The poster said this was the only way, as Microsoft does not even understand the problem. Our professor does not have the ability to even attempt this.
Has anyone encountered this, and did you fix it? Right now we're stuck transferring over the network.
Thanks /tech/
