Driver Problem

/g/ told me to go here, so here I go.
I just "downgraded" my laptop from vista to xp sp3, and installed all the necessary drivers, except for audio. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P205-S6237. After searching, I found that the one I had to install was Realtek WDM_R166, but when I install it, it gives me an error and cannot install. Could someone give some advice?

If you bought the downgrade from the vendor, get them to support their shit and supply you with drivers. If you pirated it, well tough luck I guess.

I'd like to know where you found this driver - Toshiba doesn't use it on their Satellite models.

In the meantime, try:

and see if that works.

Have you tried the HD Audio Codecs from Realtek's site?

(Use a download manager, their site's in Taiwan or wherever, and it's slow as fuck.)

Didn't work again, this time I get an error when installing that says "Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure!! [Error Code: 0xE0000227]",thanks anyway.

Oh Jesus, if he was really worried about that he could've gone to RealTek's website and see the exact same link posted there. Not all us 4channers are assholes posting viruses.

Did your laptop come with Vista? If it did, maybe there aren't any XP-ready drivers for that particular chip.

if you have a driver problem, then maybe you should learn how to drive instead.
