So, I'm running vista 32bit. 1.25TB hard drive, 4gb ram, GeForce8800GT, intel 3.2 dual core. From iBuypower.

My computer died. Please help me /tech/

It's only a few months old and has run fine. Yesturday it blue screened, and rebooted, and after every time it loaded and before the desktop, it bluescreened again and repeats. It did this for 4 hours straight, and I let it rest for 3 more hours before trying it again, and nothing happened.

After letting it relax over night, it started saying disc boot error. I used the system disc the computer came with, and I couldn't repair/use an old restore point, so I had to reinstall vista. This worked, but I don't have my activation key, so I have 30 days to varify it. It might have to due with the now lying issue:

My performance score used to be 5.6, and now it's 1. I checked, and it claimed my graphics performance was 1/6, and my computer doesn't recognize my 512mb 8800, and instead says I have some 16mb VGA graphics adapter. I have no clue what's going on, and all support for my card/computer/microsoft has basically said they don't know, either.

So, /tech/, what the FUCK happened? I can't play my team fortress 2 anymore.

lolz, your story reminds me of what happened to my Alienware prebuilt.

Have you installed the NVIDIA drivers?

Don't worry about the graphics score thingy - It did the same thing with my 9600GT when I upgraded my system a few months ago. After letting Windows update itself and a reboot or two, it was fine.

You don't have a CD Key? Not on the DVD box or, if it's pre-built, on a sticker attatched to the case?

Few months old = IN WARRANTY.  Take it back and make some other fucker do the work; you paid enough for it.  Unless you got it cheap and bodged it yourself.

Why would anyone buy Alienware? They're just much uglier, massively overpriced Dells.

What is the exact message that the BSOD gives you? That could help you figure out the nature of the problem.
