I've an N5 for my DS and I've been using it pretty frequently for a few months without any problems. The other day I soft-reset it and the screen went completely black. I waited for half a minute before turning the DS off but when I turned it back on the N5 wouldn't load. I connected the SD to the computer and it prompted me to format it, so I did. I replaced its drivers and games and when I put it back in my DS I discovered that, on the startup, it was under the impression that it was an R4. The skin was a default R4 skin and I couldn't change it to one of the skins I had put on the N5. Whilst it has a default R4 skin it still says 'N5DS English version' in the bottom right of the top screen.
If it's of any matter, unlike previously, _system_, _AX_MENU, _DS_Menu and _DS_MSHL don't show up unless I specifically choose to see all files.
The games still work but at times when I soft reset again it does the same very thing. Whilst I could stop resetting I would rather solve the problem than simply avoid having to reformat it again.
