iPod Touch jailbreak

Name: Anonymous 2008-04-24 21:48

Hi /tech/

I got myself an iPod Touch, and was considering jailbreaking it. However, all youtube tutorials are screaming with "my ipod got bricked" and a lot of other problems, so it seems kind of risky. Plus I'd be voiding my warranty, won't be able to use it as a flash drive, etc.

For those of you who own one; what jailbreaking method did you use (pwnage, ziphone, etc), how did it go, how long it took and did you experience any problems?

Thanks.

Why not just find a good player that lets you do what you want out of the box without supporting the proprietary shit that is Apple?

Ziphone is what i used; for my 32GB iPod Touch. The latest release install some retarded apps when it jailbreaks your ipod, luckily you can remove them easily. I heard Pwnage is unreliable and has bricked a large amount of iPods. To be honest theres not a whole lot of reasons to jailbreak. The NES, GBA, PSZ emulators are fun at first, until you realise how important tactile feedback is and how quickly the battery gets drained. Tap Tap Revolution is garbage and so in turn is it's Guitar Hero 3 re-skin. SSH is nice to have but ultimately useless.

I wouldn't recommend the risk.

Don't change these.
