TV USB connection

So I've been looking around for new TVs but I'm trying to not spend to much. My brother has an slightly older 37 inch Phillips lcd that I could get for 300 bucks. Its a good deal but it doesn't have a VGA port on it and being able to watch stuff from my computer on a bigger screen is one of the main reason I want a new TV.

He says it does have a USB connector, would that work for computer to TV connection? If so is the quality comparable to VGA? I'm not sure if it has an S-video or not though. How does S-video compare to VGA?

Sorry for the quesiton, I tried google but couldn't find anything about Computer to TV USB connectivity.
