I bought this computer off a guy on craigslist, but the only thing wrong with it now is that the audio doesn't work. I think I have sound, it's just not going to the speakers/whatever I've plugged in. I've tried to enable the audio drivers, but the option is grayed out. I have an HP Pavilion with Windows XP Professional.
check the bios to be sure the onboard sound is enabled. make sure you got the drivers installed... go to hp.com and look em up.
if the onboard sound is fried, you could pick up a cheap PCI sound card... or if you're really lazy get one of those USB headsets with the built in sound card. Plug and play bitches.
