PC was a Pentium D 2.66 with 1 gig ram and a crappy motherboard that doesnt support PCI-e past 4x, and a crappy 350 watt power supply. Had a nvidia geforce 7300LE
Like a retard, I rushed out and ordered a nvidia 8800 GT 512 without thinking. So then, I had to get a new 500 watt PSU. Then, I got another gig of ram. But then, I realised crappy motherboard and processor would bottle neck it. So I had to get a new motherboard supporting the new wolfdale core 2 chips, and one of the aforementiond processors rated at 2.66 GHz
I have now spent £50 ($100) more on upgrading the PC than its original price, at a horrible cumulative total of around £720. I can claw back some pennies by selling off the old, crappy motherboard, ram, processor, graphics card and power supply, but not more than £100
tl;dr
Did I just waste all my cash?
