Hardware Help

I've been trying to find information on this in other sources and nothing has helped my specific issue.

I have a DELL Inspiron 8200, and I am currently having issues with the keyboard mouse nub. It causes my cursor to drag, disabling both my mouse and touchpad.
I know its the nub itself because I can push on it and if I can get it so that the mouse does not drag, my mouse and touchpad will work.

My question is, Is there any way to out-right disable that nub?

This is assuming you're using Windows OS.  Just go ton Control Panel, go to Mouse (under Classic View if you're in XP), and there should be quite a few options under the tabs.  Just play around in there and you should be able to find it.
