Bluescreening

Im attempting to dual boot an XP/Vista install on a friends HP Pavilion M8200. It has 2 seperate hard drives, so im essentially installing XP on the second one, but it continually bluescreens during the setup process, but from what ive heard its an issue with drivers and/or hardware. I doubt its a hardware issue, but HP  clearly states that they do not support the install of XP on their now vista only systems, but i know it has to be possible, as another friend has done it without problem. Suggestions?

Possibly missing SATA drivers.

SATA drivers should be part of the BIOS firmware, though.

Yeah, you tell that to the BIOS manufacturers. While you're at it, tell them to also include OpenOffice in the BIOS. That would be really neat.

Depends on the BIOS, but yes, generally. >>4-6 are idiots.

Well then why do you need a driver disk for a lot of SATA controllers during the WinXP installation?

I suggest you ask Microsoft.

Don't change these.
