I have a Hyundai B70D LCD monitor and it was pretty good. But then it wouldn't turn on unless the power cord was bent.
At first I thought it was the male connector, but after testing the male on other devices I've narrowed it down to the female end inside the monitor.
I think the connection has come loose/broken inside and that it would just need some solder to fix, however this monitor has a flush snap-together design without any screws to guide someone taking it apart. I tried taking off the bezel and looking for other ways, but I'm getting nowhere.
I talked to the manufacturer and they'll charge almost as much as I paid for it ($125 to repair a $170 monitor out of warranty).
I have a dremel and a soldering iron. Should I make my own door to repair it myself, or just give up and buy a new one?
