My friend used to do flash animation type stuff years ago and she wants to get back into that type of stuff. What would you recommend as a good, relatively user-friendly program?

Macromedia Flash is about as basic as you can get.

HI, I'M RICHARD STALLMAN, FOUNDER AND CEO OF THE FSF AND THE COMMUNIST'S IDEOLOGY INSIDE SOFTWARE ENGINEERING. AS I WAS MAKING SVG WITH ONLY MY KNOWLEDGE AND GNU/EMACS, ONE OF MY HIPPIE CAME TO ME AND SAY "YA KNOW, WE LIVE IN THE 21TH CENTURY, WHY NOT USING MODERN TOOLS LIKE FLASH ?". THEN I TOLD HIM THE STORY ABOUT A MAN THAT WAS SO FOUND OF FLASH THAT HE WROTE A SONG ABOUT IT AND SUNG IT WITH HIS ROCK BAND QUEEN. HE HAS DIED FROM AIDS SINCE. NOW YOU UNDERSTAND WHY PROPRIETARY SOFTWARES ARE A REAL THREAT TO HUMANITY.
