What do people recommend as a video card for my laptop? I'm not a hardcore gamer, and the machine is used mostly for schoolwork, but it would be nice to be able to play HL2, TF2, Portal and CS:S without having to run the lowest specs or having it lag on me. I'm looking for value here, rather than sheer power or the ability to run a bunch of future games as well. Ideally, I could write it off as a Christmas present or something from my family, so I'm looking for something, perhaps between $75 and $125 or so.
General Computer Specs:
HP Pavillion Laptop
Vista
1024 MB RAM
160 GB Hard Drive
Intel Duo 1.73 GHz Processors
I use a laptop too, and my system specs are the same except mine is an Acer Aspire 3100-1556 and I have a single core AMD Sempron 3400+ @ 1.8ghz and 1.25 gbs RAM I use a ATI Radeon Xpress 200M @ 300mhz with 256 video memory. It plays Counter-Strike Source with the graphics on low pretty well. Although your a lot better off with a 350-400mhz video card. Hope this helps.

useless, laptops have low power (read low end) graphic boards that will not allow you to play decently new games anyway
My portable has a nvidia go6100 and for 640x480 lowquality moha (that's 2002 moha) it delays enough to uninstall the game

My laptop has a pretty good card, the ATI radeon 4330. It's an Inspiron 1546, which comes with an AMD Turion X2 2.2 ghz, 4 GB DDR3, 250 gb HDD, and the Radeon. Refurbished, it cost me $510, which is IMO a bargain.

You can't upgrade laptop video cards.
Thats like buying a cucumber and wanting to insert it into your penis. It's not happening
