Pretty subjective, tbh. What analog format? What digital format?
CD's aren't really that great outside of convenience, but 96Khz/32bit has fantastic fidelity, I would argue better than vinyl.
Vinyl sounds great if you can afford decent gear, but 8 tracks sure sounded shit.

Also, CDs have a far superior fidelity compared to vinyl. The problem is in post production when music cds are engineered to be loud by compressing the shit out of music and losing valuable signals in the process.
