Dropped DSLite, wont turn on.

My cousins decided to leave my DSLite hanging on the edge of the table and it fell pretty hard. Although I didn't really think anything of it until I tried turning it on but the power light wouldnt light up. It has no problem charging though, the orange light still works. Just wont turn turn on.
Hao do I fixed this. Do I need to open it up?

Since the alternative is to hit the power button for 12 years straight until it breaks, yes, you're going to have to open it up.

Warranty return. Nintendo are awesome for that.

The thing is, a friend of mine flashed it for me before I got it as a gift. Doesn't that void the warranty?
