motherboards help

I'm new to making computers and was just wondering what a good motherboard and case combonation would be? would like an opinion on a reasonable priced pair and a dream pair if possible. I'm not to picky on mid to full tower sizes, so bigger towers don't really bother me

if it helps, I am not really partial to either amd or intel. just care about the game performance, don't really mind the politics of amd or intel an such. if I had to chose, I'd say intel, but if you have a better idea in amd I'm open to hear it
