Firefox Upgraded. Bookmarks Gone.

Firefox upgraded itself, and it has deleted all but a small selection of my bookmarks. Is there any way I can retrieve them, or are they gone for good?

P.S.  And that wasn't Firefox's fault.  It was us.  We are in ur computer, killing ur bookmarks.

As how they're coming along, I'd imagine that after a few days of activity by the Amsterdam Department of Fire Control and Street Cleaning, enough kiloliters of water were used to clean said crevices and flush the city sewer system of uncountable quadrillions of microscopic, potential RedCreams.

It has happened to me a few times, As far as i know there is no way to get the bookmarks back except write them in again, and may i reccommend saving the somewhere else as well
