Cheapest way to play PS2 games?

I don't have a PS2 but I'd like to get one to play a few games with it (yeah, i know PS3, Xbox and many other greater alternative s exist but there are a few PS2 games I've always wanted to play.)

I don't have a TV but only a computer.  What's the cheapest route to getting it all hooked up to play PS2 games besides using one of those effectively nonexistant emulators out there?

Then get yourself a PS2 off of eBay.  Get an old one and hard drive mod it (get a hard drive, a hard drive adapter, and use HDLoader.  Rent games, copy to drive, ?????, profit (in games))

Look for a "Goodwill" store. It's cheaper than Gamestop but unfortunately, you can't get cash back if you try to pawn it.
