USB Device Screensaver detection

All right gents I'm about to give up on this shit.  I recently bought a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad.  When trying to use it for Melty Blood/Melty Blood ReACT (and at this point I assume any other game that does not freeze screensaver running) the screensaver just pops up while I'm using the damn gamepad.  I've googled it in an assortment of ways trying to find a SENSIBLE way to stop this.  I do not want to disable the screen saver and the sleep mode (because if I just disable screensaver it'll eventually go to sleep anyways.) every time I want to use the gamepad.  I've also explored the BIOS for a possible fix to no avail.  Have any of you run across this issue with any useful fix?

I don't really want to edit registry keys either, but aside from that or disabling shit I'm not sure what a workaround can be.  Struck me as funny how little there is on the subject on Google.  Thanks ahead of time.
