So just so I could legitimately bitch about how much Vista sucks, I decided to install Vista Ultimate 32 bit edition on my extra hard drive and test it for a week.That done and Vista totally sucking balls I plugged up my XP drive again and tried to format the AIDS drive but to no avail. I tried the Windows format option through My Computer, I tried formatting via the command prompt and I tried Partition Magic 8 and none of it works! What else is there to do to eradicate the lingering disease that is Vistaids?

Format as a Linux partition in PM8 (from bootable floppy/cd)

If PM8 is on Hirens then try some of the others.

All else fails head to the drive manufaturers website and grab the factory format tool (various names) and restore it to how it was when it left the factory.

What error is it giving you when you go to format?  Nobody can help you unless you describe your problem.  Unless they're fucking psychic or don't care whether their advice is right or not.

hey dumbass use DBAN...make a CD/floppy/whatever and boot to it and use the autonuke command..it wipes the drive clean

delete the partitions reboot, enter recovery console, fixboot fixmbr reboot, install xp, shut the fuck up.

Use DBAN or get a linux live cd like ubuntu and use gparted or whatever you have.
