Gahh. Windows fucked up. I can't boot it any more (some system32\config\system.log-or-something-files seem to be corrupt). I tried the repair-function with several windowsXP-CDs (to make sure the problem doesn't lie within the CD) and neither worked.
well, since windows reinstallation doesn't work either (same error as with the repair-function), formatting C seems the only way.
I booted from a knoppix CD to backup some files from C before i can format it (C and D are two partitions on one HD, E is on another HD).
problem is, that's my first time using knoppix and apparently I'm to stupid to figure out why I can't access my harddrives
to delete some files from E (need some free space...) and to copy the important ones from C to E.
any help to access rights to delete files/ mount the harddrives properly and how to format
C from knoppix would be greatly appreciated.
alternatively, if you know another solution to fix windows without losing files on C, tell me.
some additional info:
I'm not able to enter safe mode or anything similar.(thus I can't just enter format: C:\ and copy or delete files...)
I'm able to enter BIOS, obviously.
thanks in advance.
