Sony is just trying to make more money

Okay so I had a revelation, I have not read it anywhere so I make the assumption that no one has posted this idea before. Okay so here it goes. The majority of people rail on the PS3 for having a bluray drive because of the price involved. Sony says it makes the gaming better. In reality however Sony only put the drive in the PS3 to increase the chances of the bluray format winning the format war. The reason being is that controlling the next media format would yield far greater profit than the playstation brand could possibly provide. Again I do not know if this idea has been tossed around a bunch so there is no reason the hate on me if you have heard this before.
