Obsessive waste of money on iPods.

Why do people buy these things anyways? They are overpriced and with every upgrade, you still have the same music player.

1gig iPod Nano costs about 70 dollars. 80gig iPod costs 350 dollars. I'm not seeing the conversion factor here.

Also, I could get a 250gig harddrive for the price of a 1gig iPod nano. Who cares if one is portable, do you even need 80gigs for songs (Protip: You don't).

Because all you should take into account is the amount of storage space, right? Not the cost of the electronics, the per-byte cost of different storage media (a 4.3GB blank DVD costs $0.20 - should a 40Gb iPod cost $2.00 then?), not other factors like R&D, marketing, etc. Understand basic economics, then make your argument, imbecile.
