Vista, sound and possibly iTunes

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-01 9:23

I got Vista a couple days ago and so far the only problem I've had has to do with media players.

When I first turn on my computer, everything runs fine. Music plays or movies play. But sometimes, after I pause a video or song, and try to start playing it again, it won't play. The play button looks like it's playing (> turns into ||), but the progress bar isn't moving and I can't hear anything or see anything. Then when I try to play a game, there's no sound.

I'm guessing it has something to do with iTunes, because it usually happens after I stop playing a song on it. Anyone else have a similar problem?

>>8 It's not called 'Windows Media Player Classic', it's 'Media Player Classic' or MPC for short, and it's in constant development, which means it's about as far from a Windows product as you can get in nearly ten years.
Combine it with the CCCP tried & tested codec pack (preceded by a scan using 'Insurgent' to identify all your lurking scummy codecs which need to be removed).  This setup runs everything.  The only other change would be to install CoreAVC to replace the libavcodec which comes with CCCP, as it's faster.  The reason it's not included in CCCP is because it's not free, so you'll have to steal it.
