Consoles & TV tuners

Hey /tech/, eurofag here.

I have a US PS2 but my current tv does not support NTSC. I was thinking of getting a tv tuner card for the pc so I can hook it up. Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, what kind of tuner should I get?

Also, is it possible (and worth it) to get a tv tuner with a component input and hook up the PS2 with component cables for better quality, or is that not worth it on a simple 17" monitor?

Unable to locate cross-post to /v/. The maximum video output resolution of a PS2 varies from 256x224 to 1280x1024 pixels. Budget tuners (<$50USD) usually have only composite and/or s-video and won't get beyond 576i. HDTV tuners run into +$100USD and may be capable of all resolutions up to 1080p.  Assuming that you mean CRT when you say monitor, know that CRTubes downscale perfectly.  But if you have an LCD, you may get noticeable ghosting regardless of interface used.
