Yo bitses, I get raging boners reading about upcoming Vista. How about you?
And those linux crack-hippies can never come up with anything like Vista.

T-T-T-Troll Breaker
And what exactly do you mean? A gfx accelerated desktop gui? Done. Shiny desktop effects? Done. A desktop indexing system? Done.

Linux does not have nearly enough buzzwords. And linux actually has some security, built in and stuff. Who in their right minds would do that?

Enjoy your AIDS.

1)  Vista security has already been shown to be worthless.  Even the 'black box' kernel for 64-bit versions is worthless already, and even Microsoft has admitted that security in the 32-bit versions is a lost cause.  Enjoy getting ass raped a month after release.

2)  For shiny effects, Aero still utterly fails compared to MacOS X's Aqua, and STILL uses more than a 100MB of RAM to do it, since it's just thrown on top.

3)  DRM.  No need to say more, especially if you've been keeping up with the news.

You are clearly uneducated as to the nature of Microsoft's operating systems.

PS: if any of you like being incredibly restricted in what you do on the computer, go get vista!

what do I mean by this?
-No pirated software, vista checks your software licenses for validity.
-No doing anything without vista asking if you did it... seems pretty annoying.

The list goes on but im lazy.

Hey OP.

Linux crack hippies?
Excuse me?

Did you know Linux is sponsored and developed by major universities' tech departments?

So wait, the brightest minds in the world created and maintain Linux?

Man it must be so shitty, I mean it only crashes when your hardware dies, so maybe about once every THREE YEARS you have to restart your Linux box. You never have to restart the computer that sounds horrible. Did I mention that it doesn't crash?

PS: LINUX IS FUCKING FREE! WTF FREE OPERATING SYSTEMS?? NO NO THAT ISNT RIGHT, PEOPLE SHOULD ONLY BUY OPERATING SYSTEMS FROM MICROSOFT, AMIRITE?

I have never met anyone who gave Linux a try and went back to windows. ever.

Fuck you.

Things better than vista:

1). Linux XGL. Its free, and way cooler than vista. It's an addon for almost ANY Linux based PC. What now OP?

XGL was a dirty hack that was only meant to be used until drivers were available for AIGLX.  No one should be using XGL instead of AIGLX now.

The Compiz dev team is a bunch of faggots.  Beryl is far superior in every respect: stability, resource usage, features, development model, etc.

Also, old video is ooooooooooooooooooold.

Also, lol at anyone who's actually impressed by Vista.

lol wut? xgl is an xserver built on top of opengl. it's purpose is so apps can get direct access to the gfx card. this can be used for stuff like games and video. aiglx does indirect rendering. you can use aiglx to get hardware accelerated x over a network. there isn't any theoretical reason why both can't be used concurrently.

Don't change these.
